1... 2... 3...

Dear Glamour Girl,

Okay, so I know this may seem a taaaddd more dramatic than this really is and I kind of hate that I have to announce it because it feels "too official" but I'm going on what they like to call a blogging break. I hate to say that because even though I won't be blogging, I'm definitely not taking a break from being a blogger. I've been planning to use this summer as a time to pretty much revamp and in a way relaunch A Glamorous Revelation. I was contemplating changing my blog name, going self-hosted, completely (re)designing a new blog website, redirecting my content, getting a more focused aesthetic, and soooo much more. But, to my dismay this summer has been busier than I expected and I've been less motivated than ever to spend 10 hours a day trying to become a tech genius. Running the behind the scenes aspects of a blog can be ridiculously time consuming and then to add publishing a blog post, Instagram photo, and promotional tweet everyday and you've got a recipe for a potential disaster. Trying to keep up with 1000 things is already hard enough, so for the next 3 weeks (that's until the beginning of August ;)) you won't see another blog post from me here on AGR. Doing back-end work is enough to keep me busy for the next several weeks and with the extra time I'll have since I won't be writing daily posts, I'll be able to prepare for the new and improved A Glamorous Revelation website.

8) This is what happens when Rifle Paper Co collaborates with Paper Crown Clothing to make the perfect summertime floral dress.

Lovely Lady: Lily Collins

Lily Collins has been a style icon of mine for as long as I can remember. She looks incredible no matter where she's going and her style always looks refined and classic even if she's mixing prints or indulging in the newest trends. Although I hate to admit it, my closest consists of unholy amounts of black, white, and grey keeping even my most outrageous outfits slightly muted. Lily Collins seems to have gravitated towards neutral colors throughout the years making it even easier for me to pull from her looks when creating style inspiration of my own. A simple t-shirt layered over a button down, a graphic tee paired with knee length shorts, and thigh high boots worn in a non-risqué way are some of my favorite style choices that Lily has pulled off flawlessly. She makes walking around in 5 inch heels look like a piece of cake and her over the top outerwear looks so chic you'd wonder why you've never gone shopping in a black and white cape.

There's Nothing Like Nylon

Taylor Momsen - Nylon Magazine Cover [Singapore] (May 2013)

There are two types of people in this world: those who love Nylon Magazine and those who don't. If you haven't had a chance to flip through a few issues of the alternative, classic, witty magazine then I suggest you stop by your nearest newsstand and check it out. The editors at Nylon are laid back, honest, and have a killer ear for music. Each issue features anywhere from the newest indie rocker to the undiscovered folk-pop band that just celebrated its 10 year anniversary. The fashion focal point of the magazine isn't lost in advertisements, but it also steers clear of being the cliche vintage-obsessed, hardcore, 70's classic, over-the-top rebellion that many non-mainstream glossies seem to embrace.

Over the years Nylon has had just about every true It Girl you can think of on the cover of its monthly magazine. Taylor Momsen, Lindsey Lohan, and Elizabeth Olsen are just the tip of the iceberg. Haim, Tavi Gevinson, Dakota Fanning, and Anna Kendrick have all graced the cover of Nylon and that's just within the last year. Their pop culture spirit bleeds through each article they publish on their website and in their print issue. To explain to you who the "Nylon girl" is, one need only read the comments of @NylonMag's April Fool's Day Instagram post that announced Kim Kardashian as the next cover star. Let's just say the readers where outraged and the graphic designers had a serious sense of humor designing the mock cover. That's not to say you can't be a Nylon girl and keep up with the Kardashians (and the Jenners!); it just means you know the difference between a Hollywood phenomenon and careered entertainer.

So which kind of person are you? One of the ones who love Nylon Magazine or one of the ones who don't?

6 Internet Posts I Loved This Week

1. I've never heard anyone wax poetic about her love for hair extensions and defend her reasoning for being obsessed with them so eloquently. (P.S. this is also a great read for any of you who think "weave" is just for black girls and magazine covers)

2. Cara Delevingne unofficial announces that she's done with modeling and explains why.

3. If you haven't heard, Misty Copeland is making history and is the first black principle dancer at the American Ballet Theatre.

4. The U.S. Women's National Soccer Team just won the 2015 World Cup and I couldn't be happier.

5. I might be a little obsessed with stripes, but I think we can all agree that this outfit is fierce.

6. "I Cussed In My Cover Letter: The Unlikely Trick That Got Me The Job." The title pretty much speaks for itself.
