Life Is Short -- Wear Sequins!

Glitter Guide For eLUXE Connected Collection
Life is short; wear sequins. Too many times I have changed outfits in fear of being "too fancy" (as if there's such a thing) and dialed down my style in hopes of dodging the Miss Fancy Pants comments. I get it. I'm in high school and I'm supposed to live in sweatpants and jeans. If I "dress cute" every day then I'm obviously trying to impress someone. Like I said, I get it. But that doesn't mean I'm gonna stop wearing what I want. Gone are the days when I apologize for being "over dressed" just because I chose to wear a skirt rather than denim. Unapologetically wearing what I want has become my new motto and I'll be darned if I'm shamed out of wearing a skater skirt or satin top. I don't doubt that you've had the same issue whether it be regularly or every now and then. I've witnessed other girls being interrogated for their "fancy" outfits and the only reason I can think of as to why is because their less-than-fierce friends are so jealous of their outfit. Don't let the jealousy get to you, though. Because having an amazing outfit not only makes you look great it will make you feel great and act great too so it's a win-win-win for you. Life is short. Wear sequins for goodness sake!

  1. I totally know what you mean. I have friends that'll say I'm "dressed up" for wearing easy jeans and cut up thrifted tee while they're wearing yoga pants, like seriously? Are we supposed to look bad and feel bad about ourselves just because other people value presentation less or have a different style? I'm all for people wearing what they want to wear and for people putting their best foot forward because first impressions are critical.

Now I need to add some sequins to my wardrobe...

    1. I totally agree! I'm not (completely) against wearing to suit your fancy, pun very much intended. But sometimes I think we've taken "casual" too far so that now those of us who wear regular outfits look overdressed. I say we start a revolution of Fancy Pants Over Dressed Glamour Girls.

  2. I can totally relate! I'm usually the one "overdressed" at work, amongst family and friends, or even when I'm out shopping. I've learned to just embrace it and feel fabulous!
